Climbing Kilimanjaro: Machame Route
During my climb of the Machame Route on Mt. Kilimanjaro (began January 21st, 2008) I kept a journal of my experience on the mountain. Here is what I wrote in the journal (with certain exclusions).

My (Brief) Experience With Medical Tourism Pt. 2
For some reason every time I have some infection I wind up in Bangkok. After successfully freaking myself out with with wrong diagnosis (the only symptoms and pictures I could find that matched mine were the beginnings of leprosy…haha) I figured I should get this little thing checked out. So of course, where else did I go but Bumrungrad International Hospital!

A Motorbike Affair
Recently I was in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia and I flew to Kuala Lumpur then directly to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The flights were the usual Air Asia, basically low cost airfare similar to Southwest Airlines only with Asian stewardesses. The arrival into Phnom Penh airport was much like other Southeast Asian airports, but don’t start thinking that meant it was mundane.
Loads of New Photos
Alright, I’ve got three new albums that are all coming at once. You’ll get the posts to accompany them in a bit, but for now just snack on these.
Chiang Mai is Mai Kind of City – Pt. 2
Sorry about the cheesy title, it was just too easy, but the more I try to think of a better one, the more I like this one… Anyways, I’m sitting in a coffee shop in Kuala Lumpur finishing this post after roughly two weeks in Chiang Mai, Thailand’s second largest city. Yes, I’m doing it Star Wars style with Part 2 coming before Part 1. This might not make much sense, but I’m not done with Part 1 and it’s been a while since I gave you something good.

My (Brief) Experience With Medical Tourism
Many times when diving water will get into the ear canal as a result of your ear being saturated with water, causing difficulty hearing. After my last dive I was having some difficulty hearing and thought that perhaps it was simply water still caught in my ear canal, so naturally I felt like I should clean it out. Bad idea.

Scuba Diving and The Island of Koh Tao
My trip thus far has been loads fun and incredibly enlightening, however, I realized that there were many skills I hoped to learn in my life and that I could learn on this trip as well. One of those happened to be scuba diving. Diving had been a dream of mine, well that is up until I tried it out during summer camp I attended in middle school…

Hong Kong and What am I Eating?
It’s been difficult to figure out what I’m eating most of the time, and I’m not kidding! I’ve been trying to eat at smaller places that are more cultural. In fact I was just smelling my hands wondering what that smell was and I’m realizing it’s the smell of the fried tofu balls I had last night at a little dim sum shop.
Hong Kong Skyline Video
Here’s a quick video of the Hong Kong skyline during the day. I can’t embed HD video, but if you head over to Vimeo and play the video you’ll see it in HD. This video was taken near the Star Ferry pier in Kowloon (north side of Hong Kong island across the bay). The really big building that I had to pan up for is the Two-IFC tower. I love cities that are built where mountains come right up to the water…amazing!
Made it to Hong Kong!
From San Diego to Hong Kong for $300 – you can’t beat that! I flew from San Diego to Vancouver 2 days ago and stayed a night in Vancouver, checked out the city a bit, tried to get an Indian visa and then continued on my 13 hour flight to Hong Kong.
