Hong Kong Skyline Video

Here’s a quick video of the Hong Kong skyline during the day. I can’t embed HD video, but if you head over to Vimeo and play the video you’ll see it in HD. This video was taken near the Star Ferry pier in Kowloon (north side of Hong Kong island across the bay). The really big building that I had to pan up for is the Two-IFC tower. I love cities that are built where mountains come right up to the water…amazing!

Made it to Hong Kong!

From San Diego to Hong Kong for $300 – you can’t beat that! I flew from San Diego to Vancouver 2 days ago and stayed a night in Vancouver, checked out the city a bit, tried to get an Indian visa and then continued on my 13 hour flight to Hong Kong.

Roadtrip to California – Pt. I

3,000 miles in a Honda Accord from Chicago to Orange County. National parks at sunset, city nightlife and lots and lots of road. Pictures are now posted from the roadtrip I took with Matt out to California. We headed out to L.A. for separate reasons, I headed out as a springboard to Asia, Matt to find a job. Hit the jump to find out more!

South Africa

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I posted last but I’m starting to get some going now. This is one that I’ve had half written and should have just divided up a LONG time ago, but I’m just now getting around to finishing. By the way I’m in Orange County headed to Asia likely next week sometime – or so Koohzad hopes (I’m staying at his house).

Sandboarding Video

Here are a few clips from a video we all received after sandboarding in Swakopmund, Namibia. It was an AWESOME time! The sand was softer than it looks…

Getting Wild in Namibia

I’m now in Swakupmond, Namibia.  It’s said to be the adventure capital of Southern Africa.  After sandboarding and going quadbiking in the desert I can see why.  Photos from Namibia are up and include shots from Etosha National Park, Cheetah Park and Swakupmond. Make sure to check out the photos section and click to

Decided on Botswana Instead…

Hi everybody!
I am now in Maun, Botswana.  It’s a strange city where you’ll find mud huts alongside internet cafes and stray donkeys wandering through town.  I decided to join up with an overland group in Livingstone, Zambia after speaking with a few people.  It sounded like Botswana and Namibia were a little bit more difficult [...]

Having a Blast in Zambia!

I’m in Livingstone, Zambia right now. I decided that I would go to see Victoria Falls up here before continuing with the rest of South Africa. I’ve been here for a couple days now and I am REALLY liking Zambia. Not only is the scenery beautiful (as you could imagine with Victoria [...]

Sorry…I’m Still Alive…

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while.  While there was internet in Tanzania is was typically a 56K connection shared throughout the entire internet cafe, making it difficult to post or really do anything online except write short emails.  But now I’m in South Africa and actually headed to Zambia today and there are much [...]

We Made It! Pictures are Posted

David and I made it to the top, unfortuanately at separate times so we didn’t get a picture together.  We switched it up mid-trip and did a 6-day because we were feeling pretty good.
There are new pictures in the photos section from London and from Kilimanjaro.  I’m planning on adding some more as soon as [...]
